Meet the team: Shannon Ormel

Shannon discovered cycling through participating in the Whistler Fondo.
She has always loved sports and was a NCAA division 1 hockey player in New York.

Cycling has become her passion and she has ventured into road cycling and rushing through loams in mountain biking.
Shannon found the joy of racing her bike in 2024 with the local crit scene in Vancouver.

She quickly shifted her experience to Cat 3 within half a season, earning a debut Cat W4/5 win at Tour de Concord and podiums in the local scene.
She loves to be on her bike, seeking new routes and oat lattes, chasing QOMs and jamming out to tunes through Zwift.

Off the bike, she loves to cozy up and dive into her library of books.
This upcoming season, Shannon is joining Instinct Racing to help shape the team’s next chapter of road racing.
